Supply List Analysis

API Scientific brings you the ideal service for analyzing the cost and content of your lab supplies on a monthly or annual basis.  And we make it as easy as one, two, three.

1. Send us a current list of your monthly or annual lab supplies.  Everything you order.  Part numbers and some idea of quantities would be most helpful.

2. Be sure to identify those items you might be having problems getting in a timely fashion.

3. Include any new Equipment & Instrumentation you could be looking for in the next 12 months.

Then API Scientific will have your lab supplies list and/or problem areas analyzed by our Procurement Team.  We’ll also have  our specialists take a look at your Equipment & Instrumentation wish list.  Who knows, we just might have some interesting findings…

For example, an API Scientific Supply List Analysis will give you an idea of what your colleagues and competitors might be paying for the same or similar items in their QA or QC Labs.  Are you paying too much?

Is there something about your lab's testing and usage patterns that might enable you order more efficiently, to streamline your scientific supply side?

Does a piece of equipment you've been asked for, cost twice as much as the one you actually need?  Are there too many bells and whistles for the testing you're doing?

The API Scientific Supply List Analysis is like a check-up for your lab supplies. And did we mention that it's FREE.

Why It's Wise To Analyze.

An API Scientific Case History.

One of the services API Scientific has performed for major
corporations as well as local laboratories is our Supply List Analysis. In fact, we’ve analyzed lab supplies lists consisting of 100 of the most frequently ordered items by a regional food company, to lists of more than 300 specialized items from a major soft drink bottler.

But one of our most interesting “lists” was when we were
asked to bid on nearly 750 items for a leading beer manufacturer with breweries throughout the USA. With a multi-million dollar budget from the year before, they wanted to see if they could realize some logistical efficiencies while simultaneously achieving some financial benefits as well.

There are three primary components to our Supply List
Analysis. Quality, Cost and Availability.

The first priority, of course, is Quality. QA and QC always start with Quality.  Our commitment to quality is best evidenced by the fact that API has more than 200 satisfied Food & Beverage clients with real-world experience using the same kinds of proven, high quality scientific equipment and supplies, from leading manufacturers, that we recommend and provide on an ongoing basis.

The second factor is most often cost. He mentioned that, as well.  The real secret to cost is that no one source can give you the lowest price for every item you need. So in this particular case, as part of our due diligence, we eventually wound up bidding more than 25 manufacturers from around the world, along with a handful the largest major multi-industry distributors in the USA.

Because of our specialized focus on the Food & Beverage
industry, price can often be effectively negotiated based on volume discounts, relationships, and other factors. But you must keep in mind that it makes no sense to get a lower price for an item if there are known availability issues from the manufacturer or distributor. Does it really matter if someone offers you a lower price, if you can’t get that item at that price when you need it?

That’s why Availability it the third component of our Supply
List Analysis. Does one particular anufacturer have a history of availability problems for a specific item? Are you facing painfully long lead times for custom chemicals or a new piece of equipment? In the Food & Beverage industry, product availability counts. With the kind of production schedules you face, it has to count!

As a result of this major undertaking, we not only saved
this manufacturer from doing all the leg-work, we were able to help show them how to achieve savings of more than 10% from the year before. Has anyone analyzed your lab supplies list that closely in the past few years…?
